What is GLOBALGAP?
GLOBALGAP is formally known as EurepGAP. GAP stands for `Good Agricultural Practice`, a minimum production standard for good agricultural practice of agricultural/horticultural products . GLOBALGAP is a production standard for the certification of good agricultural practice in the agricultural, horticultural industry.
GLOBALGAP is based on the principles of risk prevention, risk analysis (among others by using the principles of HACCP), sustainable agriculture by means of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and Integrated Crop Management (ICM), using existing technologies for the continuous improvement of farming systems
The standard called ‘’GLOBALGAP Plant Propagation Material" (PPM) and is only meant for Plant Propagating companies.

Why has GLOBALGAP been developed?
The reason GLOBALGAP has been developed is that there has been an increase in consumer awareness concerning the production circumstances in the food industry.
